this is the functional part of our kitchen. the room per se is very large, but most of the time the action takes place in the shown corner. to make matters worse, there is a guy who - instead of helping the chef - runs around with his camera all the time... well, who might that be?
earth & human - oneWay?
do we go the right, correct, aligned and indulgent way? this one way, that is mandatory if you want to venerate your counterpart? or is it a one-way, a non-returnable relationship between mankind and nature?
the image, i show you today, displays the status quo, how i perceive the current evolution. nature is present, we see it, sometimes. but nature is more than that - it is the centre and basis of everything. we consist of nature and we'll be morphed into nature again, anytime. but what does the mankind do? the humans tramp on the nature's beauty and overuse its precious regenerative properties.
this being the case, i admit, with my graphical representation of the cooperation between mankind and home planet i look a bit at the black side, whereas this portrayal intentionally makes a very pessimistic, alarming image.

day one after the trip, time to lick the wounds. postprocessing at all levels.
although today's image is of course no masterpiece of landscape photography, this illustration of the french riviera's rocks is imo a satisfying reproduction of the atmosphere of the cloudy friday. considering the really non-optimal boundary conditions - no time, no tripod, no dedicated location for a shooting, no "normal" uwa lens, no nd-filter and so on - the result is not so bad after all and therefor worth the publication.
at this point i'd like to thank my blogger friend martin again, who reviewed all the images i've published on the blog until now and named his favs. so today, also due t him, you will find one new image in each topic of the gallery.

today we finally found the time to discover the cote d'azur. it's not that st. tropez or le lavandou thrilled us to a special degree - pretty unspectacular a small ruin near grimaud with a bright view over the hinterland of st. tropez was the daily highlight.

in 8, fisheye, architecture, glass, reflection, plane, trip, frankfurt, germany, airport, pattern, sony, nex 7, sky, walimex samyang rokinon
at one place concentrated, logistic master pieces like frankfurt airport are extremely rare in germany. even rarer these constructs (of any kind) are transparent enough to give you at least a slight glimpse into their true, tremendous complexity. already during the round about 8 to 10 minutes lasting bus drive from the parking position of the plane from friedrichshafen to terminal 1 where our flight to nice departed the airport of frankfurt gave an impressive insight into its hidden processes: a part of the drive was leading through narrow, branched buildings where a lot of busy people did their work.

you might wonder about the new design here. well, i've finally decided to get a full website. besides the blog there is nothing working yet, but this will change during the next days. i'm going to vitalise the whole site with a lot of stuff, so stay tuned. target for today was to get a funny self portrait with the message: don't take yourself too seriously. if you are a rather serious person (as i am), this mantra seems to be a proper approach to life.

on some days everything seems to be too large. although i really don't know if the reason for that is my littleness or the tremendous size of my surroundings, the impact is always the same - regardless of where i'd been before, these days bring me back down to earth.

it was the third superbowl of my life and the first one with a huge party at our place. how should i put it? the night was simply gorgeous.
the foundation was laid by having all the drinks and the american food on hand. the epic match itself with the almost-turnaround after the break, the blackout and not least beyonce's performance will always stick in our minds anyway. together with the tons of fun all ingredients for a nice evening were present. thank you all for coming, i enjoyed every minute!
